Spiritual Growth
| Underlying and motivating everything that goes on at Spring Vale is the conviction that no one is truly educated unless he has God as his Father and Jesus Christ as his Savior. Bible classes, chapel periods, evening worship in the dorms, joint worship and weekly worship services provide opportunities for students to understand their need for salvation and to learn the keys to spiritual growth and personal happiness.
Each day begins in the campus chapel with an opening prayer service and a message for the day. Class instructors use textbooks, resources and examples that have a Christian perspective. At the end of the day, an evening worship service is held in the dorms. Every Friday evening students gather with church members for service, as well as on the Sabbath. Students are also encouraged to participate in church revivals and mission work. Spring Vale students volunteer for a variety of mission-based programs throughout the school year.

The Truth Project
Produced by Focus on Family, this worldview study contrasts the lies of the world with the truths of God. The major premise is that God has expressed His truths for every area of our lives and we must be firmly grounded in those truths so that we will not be taken captive by the lies of the world.

Discovering God’s Way of Handling Money
As part of Spring Vale Academy's Life Skills class, we have begun using "Discovering God's Way of Handling Money," from Crown Financial Ministries. This class will become a requirement for all juniors beginning in 2008 and addresses marriage and family, career, and a host of other life issues from a Christian perspective.
Crown Financial Ministries is a Christ-centered, Bible-based ministry whose core values include recognition of God's ownership of all things, the need to pray about everything, and the desire to equip and serve others with excellence while teaching in ways understood by all cultures and generations. http://www.crown.org/

Revivals
Students are required to participate in church revivals that are held at the Spring Vale Academy campus. At the revivals, students have the opportunity to interact with the larger church community and experience their faith in action.

Worship
Spring Vale Academy is implementing a newly updated, comprehensive Sabbath school program that ensures relevant topics are addressed in an organized and systematic way. The Truth Project and Discovering God’s Way of Handling Money is part of this new effort.

Another change that Spring Vale staff began in 2007 is to develop weekly worship themes. Each worship presented during the week follows that theme, from morning chapel to dorm worships to Friday evening service. Some of the themes presented in 2007 include: “Respect” (for God and others), “Dress for Success” (modesty, professionalism, etc.), “Accountability,” “Be Nice” (lifting up and encouraging one another), and “The Image of the Father.” This more targeted approach is proving to have a more lasting impact than previous efforts.
