 SVA Music Scholarships

 

 

The mission of Spring Vale Academy is to disciple young people to Christ the Master Teacher, preparing them to be Christian leaders and workers; to prepare young people socially, academically, and psychologically for further education and for the responsibilities and relationships for adult life.

 

SVA promotes the development of God given talents, leadership, and the musical expression of praise to  our Father by awarding scholarships for musical talent. Scholarships will b awarded to the top two musicians in the amount of 25% of tuition, room and board (for boarding students) or 25% of tuition (for day students).

 

 

Requirements:

 

Voice: The student applying for a music scholarship for singing ability must demonstrate the following level of achievement:

• Be a member of SVA Choir.
• Maintain a 3.5 G.P.A. in Choir for each semester of the year.
• Try out for SVA SOUND.
• If there is a schedule conflict, other arrangements will be made on an individual basis.

 

Instrument:

 

The student applying for a music scholarship for instrumental ability must demonstrate the following level of achievement:

• Be a member of SVA Band (if available).
• Maintain a 3.5 G.P.A. in Band for each semester of the year.
• Try out for SVA SOUND.
• Be a member of the Friday Night Praise Team.
• If there is a schedule conflict, other arrangements will be made on an individual basis.

 

Application Steps:

 

To be considered for a music scholarship, applicants must:

• Complete and send the scholarship application.
• Send the following materials:
  o A list of any prior awards or acknowledgements received.
  o Instructor’s or Praise Leader’s letter of recommendation.
• All materials MUST be postmarked by July 20 for the school year, or December 20 for spring semester.
